Welcome to my blog. As a parent of an 11 year old and a 13 year old, I know all too well the world of the Digital Learner. It’s my world as well. Since I’m raising these Digital Natives, I’m constantly embroiled in the dilemma of letting them learn, yet keeping them safe. Surrounding us are desktop computers, laptops, cell phones, iPods, and more PDA’s than you can imagine. We are in the midst of the information age where technology tools allow us to live and communicate globally. You realize -- the planet really isn’t that big anymore!
“Misty’s Digital Digressions” was created for educators and parents trying to keep pace with the Digital Natives living all around us. This blog will provide interesting, valuable tips that you can use in your classroom or at home to engage your digital natives and keep them less restless. Such interesting topics as podcasting, wikis, MUVE, gaming, and blogging are just a few topics that I'll be posting.
As a parent, educator, and person genuinely interested in how and what our children are leaning, I want to provide a forum for meaningful discussions, a place to share funny stories or heartfelt experiences, and tips on how to help our children grow in our digital world.
I hope to hear from you soon.
Misty
